Title: Re: LED Bulbs for BB1
Post by: cobra617 on October 19, 2015, 10:33:24 AM
I just picked up a BB1. (My first) Where did you get your LED bulbs? Are they 12V or 6.3V. I really want to swap in some cool whites LED on these incandescents.

Thanks.

6.3 volts.  Suzohapp carries them for $1.25 each plus mystery shipping charges.

Thanks for letting me know that they are #86 bulbs. I have tons of 6.3v LEDs since one of my major hobbies is Pinball Machines (I love to work on them). Not sure I have any size 86s though.

I've used these in other slot machines:

They are cheaper than the SuzoHapp.
Thanks again!

Just a heads up. I don't know how the bulb sockets are wired on these slots. To be safe cut each lead in half. So that it doesn't wrap around to the other side. make it look like that picture on Suzo's site.

There's a lengthy discussion on that topic.  In a nutshell, using the leds with the wires that wrap on both sides is safe to do on the buttons, they just have to be inserted in the right orientation.  It is not safe to use it on things that use the little socket that twists on to a pcb, on those, you have to cut the other side of the wire.
