Title: bally e1000 wont coin up
Post by: startek2 on November 27, 2015, 09:43:03 AM
hey gang i have e1000 in my shop and what i notice is upon power up the handle solenoid is energized but you pull the reels and thery just spin and dont stop.  if i open the door and push the test button once, the reels lock in...i then hold the door switch closed and try to coin it up manually.....the lights for coin one then two then three light up but the handle solenoid does not pull in....and no coin indication shows on the display even though it cycles the coin in lights......when first powered on, i get the proper 50 0000 indication.  i can go into test and all the inputs and outputs appear to be normal....in switch test, i show 001 when activated and 120 when released.  that seems to be correct i think as there are wires going to the no and nc switch tabs on the coin switch....the big problem this machine had when it came in where gunky reel mechanism but i freed that up and it seems fine.....what am i missing here?  i did notice that there is a switch for the coin return but i am assuming it is not used? that does not work.....so something is goofy but i am not sure what it is....

Inside your reel mechanism there is 2 black cross shafts. Can you spin those freely with your fingers? if not it needs more lubrication to get all the linkage working freely and then you reels will stop.

One other thing to do is to run test 5 and see if the reel readers are working.
in this test, slowly rotate each reel and see if the numbers change on the display.
If they do not then it may be a defective reel reader board mounted behind the front
of the reel mechanism or even the IO board

also check the kick switches on the left side of the reel assembly.
