Cinevision monitor
« on: May 13, 2014, 08:34:49 PM »
Hey guys

I picked up a Bally Cinevision and the monitors image is going bad. I think it's the power supply in the monitor. Just curious if I should fix it or just buy a new one. Happ sells them for almost $800! I'm ready to buy a brand new one since I got this for basically nothing.

What should I do? Images attached. Sometimes it's worse than others and the Inge doesn't always display in the correct aspect ratio.

You might try doing a recap on the A/D board, should clear up that video, or just get new board. Would be a lot cheaper than a new monitor and would look just as good.

Hello I have this same problem on my Cinevision, what do you mean by do a re/cap of the board? I know my monitor is not the problem it is the little circuit board on the back of it causing the problem. Is your reference to re/cap mean replace the capacitors on the little board on the back of the monitor?

Thanks Sean Moore

What type monitor do you have? LCD or older CRT tube? If it's the older CRT then your problem is likely caused by the electron guns inside the tube and not capacitor related

Sorry, just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. By capping they are referring to capacitor. I'm not sure which board they were referring to in the earlier posts, but if that's the power supply they were talking about, give it a shot. Caps are cheap
