Strange problem...
« on: November 16, 2017, 03:01:10 PM »
Hello Folks,

So I removed my DSV 42 chip from the LITE board, because I prefer the older sounds and rollup melody, and I’ve run into an issue...  with the DSV removed and the LITE board still installed, the sounds are only coming out of the subwoofer (bottom speaker); obviously very quiet and muffled..when I unplug it, to test, I’m not getting any sound at all, and turned up to 10, I hear a very faint amount of sound coming from the top speakers... it’s so quiet you have to put your ear up to it to hear it. When I put the DSV back in, the sounds are all back to normal.  What is going on?    I don’t want to use the DSV any longer, but removing it causes no sounds!  Also removed the MML, as well... no sounds t all.
Slots, Poker, Whiskey, Trains.... Those are the only things I can't do without. Well, of course my family, too.

It's a wiring harness issue. I'm on my cell and can't do searching well with it but I know it has to do with the harness from the amp up top back to the MPU.
Search for very loud S2000 and in that post there were the correct pin outs to the amp from what I remember.

You might have to go into the menu section that controls your volume. Check your setting for stereo and mono settings. I know you have to set your machine up to run the sound Simm, so I'm guessing the reverse might be needed..
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

RB helped me over the phone!  He was very helpful.  It turned out yes a harness issue. Someone spliced just the stereo channel to both speakers, so when mono was in use, there was no sound. So, I spliced the mono channel to both speakers, problem fixed.
