I did. The third assembly at the top was frozen. It still does it. It almost seems that there's not enough power to the coil. I checked the sensors. All are aligned and working. I confirmed this in test mode. I get different characters as I spin the reel.

The coils fire correctly while in test mode.

Hope this narrows it down some.

still have any of these avail.? would they work on a WBA12ss validator

Hi, I have an E series 2212 by bally. Everything tests out fine but it does the non stop 3rd reel thing. I run the self checks/tests and all seems good. All reels spin freely, the optics are fine, and all clearances are fine.

Door switches are good also.

It will do fine for 1 or 2 pulls and then the dreaded tilt.

david lee's suggestion in post #16 is likely.

if you aren't familiar with servicing bally stepper units, there's quite a few videos on youtube.   The key is you want the wipers to whizz back to the reset stop without slowing/stalling.  Sometimes cleaning the crud off the rivets with isopropyl alcohol and a scrubby is good enough, but you may need to take things apart if there's dried lube on there.
