IGT Reel Touch Games / Re: Lobstermania gets stuck initializing

Yes...that's why it's good to have spare boards so you can swap stuff around to find out what's good and no good.
That's a good idea to send it out to Lookes...I hope he has some time to look at it.
To save some money on shipping, I'd remove the MPU from the heavy metal tray it's screwed onto.
All he needs is the circuit board itself, and the chips.
I'm only guessing when I say he probably tests the chips, and makes sure they're seated correctly too.

I do check that the board is going to boot with the customer's chips if they provide them. I don't actually need them to repair the board tho.
For a single board, if it is sent USPS priority mail medium box, the shipping cost is the same with, or without the tray. For multiple boards, take them off the tray to save shipping cost both ways.

I am still fixing them. Send them over.

I think the reason why sometimes "it doesn't spin at all" is because the reel symbols are already in the correct locations.
You can just about guarantee the reels will spin, if you move any one reel basket by hand just a little, while the door is opened.

Bally Reel Games / Bally 6000 sound board question
« Last post by ucanwin on Today at 04:13:47 PM »
Hi,
I have a question, and I'm sure that one of you knowledgeable members can help me understand my problem.
I have a Bally 6000 Beach Party slot machine that has sound when a hand pay is made, but when a BONUS
symbol comes up on the reels there is no sound for that feature. The feature goes through the motions, and puts
up credits, but there is NO sound. This machine has a sound board on the upper left side of the cabinet with a U-3
chip number PS00000GNRC2-00 BMB 01/22/01  2001  L01-0515 in it. The person that I bought the machine from
told me that this is a generic chip that someone put in the machine, and it is not the correct one. Well.....my
question is....generic or not, shouldn't there be some sort of sound when entering the BONUS feature on this machine?
Is it possible that the board itself might be a problem? Does the sound on a hand pay originate from this board, or is
there a chip on the main board that creates that sound? Someone please enlighten someone who is not smarter than a fifth grader.
Best regards, and thanks for any comments on this issue. :EmoticonHelp4: :Scratch-Head:

« Last post by Akriegs on Today at 02:11:46 PM »
it appears i have 4 bad boards. the 501 did not work. I have 2 that power up and get to the closed door. I have 2 that lights turn on but no bill cycle and nothing happens. Any suggestions for the 2 that do nothing. I checked the battery and i get 2.9 out of the 3v battery. I took a know working board and placed into the broken machine. It boots all the way and spins the reels but says i am using a 9 button game. This new machine is only 5 button. So the machine i believe is good but i am trying to get one of the broken boards to work.
Thanks for post lookes. You have repaired several of my boards in the past. I think i will be shipping out a few more if you are still fixing them.

WMS Williams Video / Re: Going from CPU-NTX2 in BB2 to a CPU-NTX
« Last post by brianc101 on Today at 12:28:05 PM »
Hi Curtis,

I'm following along with this adventure.  What would be the chances of two bad CPUs?  Do you know what the Dual Screens were shipped with? Green Or Blue boards.  I have no idea it that make a difference.

Watching you project with interest,
Brian
