fatal fault when attempting clear..

Hey what's up guys. I was try to do a clear on my Diamonds and Devils 5r but every time I attempt it the screen says "fatal fault. Could not open file." I tried a couple times always getting stuck at the same spot. My other alpha clears just fine with this card so I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the problem is?

Try the mpu on another cabinet. if it clears, it is the backplane, which would need to be replaced.

Thanks for the suggestion but I think the backplane is ok since the machine works well and the game plays fine. The only reason I want to clear it is to change the %. I've noticed that there are a few different versions of the bally cf clear card, maybe I don't have the right one to work with this particular machine. Not sure which one I need. The machine I can't clear has a 2g os, my other one has a 64mb. Does that info help me to know which card I need?

Ok, now that you posted more relevant information, you probably need a different clear version.  The game clear is paired to the bios on your system.  Since you have a 2GB OS card, you have a "300" bios on your mpu.  You will require a clear 335 in order to clear that machine.  Your other MPU's probably have a 317 OS (07 bios) and your clear card is probably a 312.

Check the sticker on the BIOS on all your machines, post them here so we can verify your OS/Clear pairings so you keep a record of what you will need.
