ok i got the clear card..

i cleard it and it said it cleared ..

but after it goes throught the dos boot up it goes back to a black screen,,

After all this boot up in dos it goes to black screen and thats as far as it gets..

Check to make sure the OS card is in the top slot and the game card is in the bottom slot.

Yes. OS card is in the top. AND Game Card Is IN THE bottom. It won't boot up if the cards are in the other way .

when it hangs on the black screen, if you turn the jackpot reset key, does the machine re-boot?

At this point I would try another MPU that is known to be working, or try the MPU on another cabinet if possible to see if the MPU is actually working right. I for one I'm stumped. What area are you located at, maybe someone lives close enough where the MPU could be tested locally.

It is rare, but there's a possibility that the game card got corrupt. Does he have another CF game card to try? If not, it would be inexpensive to just buy a video title for a Bally Video. Somewhere around $30 to $50 for almost any non-premium game. It's worth a try and if it works, he has a different game to play with and then he can look and see if someone can fix the card he has now. I can't do that one, I don't have that particular game, but maybe someone here has it can offer to fix the cf card.

Rick If you noticed in his screen shots it says it cannot find game video.cfg?? You may be right on the corrupt game card. I have seen with my limited work on the Alphas game cards go bad if placed in the wrong slot on the MPU. Your suggestion to try another game card is a good starting point. He may also have a bad OS card. That's where I would start on this. Replace both the game and OS card. What game is being used in this slot?? TJ

the guy im working on this for brought me a 64mb game card and a 128mb OS card.

I tryed them both and it dose the same thing..

mabey they are the wrong cards i dont know

now im thinking it could be the MPU board ...

YOu have to run 317 OS card with the 807 BIOS chip in this. Other cards won't work. I still think the game card is bogus. Try the new game card with the 317 OS card. Ted
