CMI 16D coin comparator for IGT S+ NO GREENLIGHT
« on: September 02, 2019, 07:56:13 AM »
Hi there, real newbie here. I have a Double Diamond IGT S+. Coins go through right to pay out tray. I opened it up, made sure the sample coin was in right, it was. I get no error code, just doesn’t recognize that a coin was placed in there.

I noticed the green LED light on the CC is not lit. Can the CC be the problem and as easy as buying another on eBay?

Many thanks

Put a piece of cardboard or something on the back side to hold the rake open, then test it. Likely bad but it can be removed it your CC works otherwise. The only problem with removing it is when you insert excess coins (more than max bet). There's a fix for that too just by changing the SP chip to one that will let coins go to the credit meter or you can just replace the CC. My green LED isn't lit when the door is open.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

The light is only on when the door is closed. The sensitivity adjustment must be turned fully counterclockwise.

Hi There,

Many thanks for your replies they are greatly helping me. e have had some movement on this. I now have an error 21 which I believe is the coin optic? I did read a thread about testing the optics, one that involves pressing the white test button and turning the jackpot reset key. The instructions said to press white test button until 10-1 appears. It also said do this only if the credits paid screen goes blank before displaying code 21.

I had two issues. One, my credit screen does not go blank when closing the door, the code 21 is illuminated and doesn't stop illuminating even when I close the door.

Two, when I pressed the test button I only got 10 then 11 no 10-1 or 11-1

Thanks for all of your help, hopefully we will get the thing working and hopefully it won't go haywire again.

The door display should blink off then on when you close the door. For a complete door closure the door latch should be seated all of the way down into it's groove to line up the door optics.
Closing the door and lining up the optics with the latch all of the way down is the only way to clear a tilt like a 21 error.

Ok so you think the error is with the existing optics? How do I line the optics off if the door is closed. Just trying to picture how to do that. I did take compressed air and blew out the coin, hopper and door sensors just for good measure.

I hope it is something as simple as the door sensors not lining up. Usually when you close the door the reel spins, mine currently does not. So you think all of this is because it doesn't realize the door is closed? It does shut, with the lever going all the way down and I can lock it and take the key out without any problems

The two wires on the optics are very thin and fragile, make sure a wire has not broken off.
