Bally E series machine cc-40 wires needs identified
« on: April 21, 2018, 07:40:18 PM »
Hello     I Have a Bally E2390 series E slot machine that I’m trying to Repair, I'm starting with the CC-40, it has 5 wire connected to it. #1 gray,#2 purple,#3 red, #4 yellow, #5 is blank, #6 black. The yellow wire goes to a 50 vac power supply, the gray, purple, red, and black go to a small sealed connector with a push button on it, there are 3 wires coming out of this connector, red, orange and black.
The black wire is taped off and the red wire, about 3” long isn't connected to anything.
Does anybody know what this push button is for and what the black and red wires do and where they go?
THANKS

:NLG_WELCOME:  I my self would remove the comparitor and install a mechanical coin mech.. It would be helpful if you posted a picture of your wiring issue.. Have you tried installing a coin in the comparitor to see if it works as is?

The Imonex mechanical coin acceptors are pretty simple non-electrical coin acceptors (see below). I think the older ones were made of metal. You can google search for "coin mech", that's the common name for them.

Or if you aren't worried about the wrong size coins getting into the hopper you can jam open the coin rake on that non-working coin comparitor you have and the coins will pass right thru. Not recommended in a lot of cases but it is an option, especially when you are wanting to fix several things on the machine and get it to working.

Thanks, I have tried using the cc with a coin and it doesn't work, I have tried opening the rake also, no luck. Coins do not register on the machine. I believe these wires need connected some where for this cc to work correctly. I will send photo later. THANKS!!!!

Sound like you might have more issues the just the comparitor. The comparitor does not have anything to do with registering credits on the game. You could have a bad power supply, coin switch, MPU, ribbon cable.. We need to see what your machines doing, what's on the door display. Pictures are very helpful to us. Show us what your win meter shows when powered on. Take pictures of the inside boards.
