« on: March 03, 2019, 04:39:24 AM »
Is there an option in the menu or with ekey to stop the loud clicking sound when each of the individual reels stop. Its fine when im playing, but if someone is playing the machine its bloody annoying lol!

If this is on your G23, easiest way is to unplug the Solenoid (noise maker) on the back wall.

It will look like the item circled in red in the attached picture. I believe in G23 it is on the same bracket as the MLD power supply (I think). Locate it and unplug the black molex connector.
You can do this via software as well by changing reel stop sound from solenoid to speaker but I can't remember exactly where that is in the options.

Thanks buzzarama for your continual support, I appreciate it! Would rather change it through options than pull out plugs so hopefully someone can help locate it in the options menu, thanks again

I don't believe there's an option to turn it off on avp.  I just unplugged it on my machines.

Yeah sorry bout that, I must have been thinking back to S2000's, speakers or solenoid option.

I have always just unplugged them too.

I cant find anything on the G23 that looks look like the photo you showed. Attached is the inside of my machine. Any clue as to where it is and what plug to pull out? Cheers

It seems like it is attached to the MLD power supply bracket and mounted to the back wall behind the circled plate. I have never had and V1 or V2 G23's that had that plate in them. The only time I have seen those here in Oklahoma casinos was on a leased machine or WAP so my answer is its behind there I think... :Scratch-Head:

Buzzarama - you legend! Yes they were exactly where you said. Pulled the black cord and now the game sounds much better. What a silly invention to include those things in - very irritating! THanks for your help and patience - these machines are new to me! :D

Legend? Not hardly but thank you, glad I could help. Those things can get annoying. A lot of physical reel IGT machines have those and since there are a ton of Reel Depth games that emulate mechanical reel games on MLD monitors they included it. You would think that since traditional video reel games don't have that sound and they can be played on the same machine they would have made it configurable but oh well.  Funny that IGT calls it a Solenoid/ Noise Maker.
