Just get you a bigger SSD (solid state drive) and you will be good to go. The NVRAM is non-volitile random access memory.

What size is the SSD now?

NVRAM is not upgradable to the best of my knowledge.  It is located on that PCI card that has the boot 2 chip and the two batteries.  Unless IGT made one with bigger NVRAM, there's no way around that problem.

Wow, I totally read that as SSD capacity with a question of what is NVRAM.
Rick is right, the NVRAM and E Squared are both handled by the PCI I/O. It has 8mb on board memory and 8mb extension on boot 2 which also handles door events. You can have as many games loaded on the hard drive as you want but limit the amount you have enabled to allow some NVRAM to work with or else if a door switch starts spamming or a persistent error occurs it will fill up the event queue much faster.

The limited NVRAM was sort of addressed in the newer OS and Bootchip sets by increasing the size allowed for event queue but if the nominal NVRAM is up there it would kind of offset it anyway.

What is a safe buffer to maintain for NVRAM?  In other words, how much can you use without causing issues?

I have found through trial an error, that once I get past 90% utilizaiton on fresh install, I begin to have weird issues during gameplay on certain games.  And as buzzarama says, when you start getting log entries and history, the nvram is eaten up, so I typically stop at around 85% or so to allow room for regular gameplay entries.

Good to know Rick, Thank You!

So far I have not gone past the mid 70's but it's good to keep that in mind.
