can not get the door optics to work on a s-2000

Need to know what else controls the door optics on an s-2000. I replaced both optics, tried the bypass fix, did not work either. Machine keeps saying close the main door. I have done the bypass before and it worked on other machines, just can't seem to get it to work on this one. I am on my way right now to try and replace the 960 mother board but if that don't work I am out of ideas....Anyone want to jump in?

Might try swapping the MPU before the motherboard/backplane...we have several boards tagged with Door Open errors. I know there's a relatively simple fix, just haven't got around to it.

Many times it's due to a leaking corroded varta rechargeable battery on the MPU board that damages circuit traces used for the door optics circuits that is the cause of the problem.  If you have green corrosion on/around the the battery that's probably what is causing your door open M errors.  You can either replace the MPU board, or remove the battery and attempt to repair damaged circuit traces.  This is assuming you have a 50X series MPU board.

Thank you guys it was a little of both. Yes there was a white fur coat around the green battery so I swapped out the mpu and the problem is fixed. Heck, I learn something everyday.

It involves the traces under the green battery. I'm sure it won't be the same on every board of course, but as I understand, that's at least a starting point. I know a few members have done it with no problems, Jim/Midwest Slots, Neonkiss, and either Tilt or CommTech. The knowledge is here, that's for sure!
