Outside looks the same but the inside parts are different, including the cam

Like Idesign said, the outside panel is the same, but the inside sliding panel is different. The cam is more of a triangle shape on the bb3. I ran into this issue when I needed a cam for mine. However you can make a Bb2 cam work upside down and a bit of modification.

I put a NXT2 cover on 3.2 last night and thought it fit...  However, the NXT2 cover did not have the twister handle thing, I pushed the mechanism with my finger and it seemed to lock OK. 

I had to create and print my own cam lobe (if that is what it is) back in the day for my old BB1 cover.
