Hello, NLG
What do I have?
I got myself an abused E series slot machine. It turned out to be a Military Version. I've almost restored it to it's former glory after spending countless hours on NLG and every applicable manual, I need some help.
What I don't have
An exact Model number. My side plate is gone. Stickers on Eproms are gone. Eproms still have their software. I do some stickers on the reels that say E-1228. Not sure if they match the machine, since I think the I/O board and maybe the MPU board are not original.
What have I done already?
- Sandblasted, Replated and resprayed every single part.
- Cleaned all old grease and relubed reels.
- Cleaned edge and molex connectors.
- Replaced Mac15 on hopper board
- Replaced Ram
- Recoiled Hopper motor
- Voltages on test pins on power supply are all good.
Issues I currently have:
I got myself from a dead machine to a now semi-responsive machine. After I replaced the Ram today, I'm finally able to use the test menu after two months.
My I/O board connectors J3 and J1 have some loose wires. If I compare the wires on my J1 with the regular E series manual, there are quite some differences.
If I look at the TRIAC table from the manual, only column 4 and 5 match. 1st column is not used on military version. 2nd and 3rd are a complete mess.
I have some more issues, but I'd like to focus on the J1 and J3 IO board connectors first.
- Rattling Coin deflector
- Every component and light rattles when IO board screw hole ground connects with ground on IO board bracket.
- Reel solenoids rattle when power comes on.
- Feature lights are not solid, they flicker
- Bell is connected but doesn't ring when door is opened
- Handle release (Q2 I believe) is connected but does not release.
- Door Open code 50 doesn't go away when door is closed.
- Blue wire from Door lock Switch leads to MPU board instead of pin 3 J3 I/O Board. (Looks original, but doesn't work)
A lot of these come down to misplaced and loose wires I guess.
What do I need help with?
I hope somebody with a military machine can help me with a triac table and/or I/O board J1 and J3 wire connector schematics.
Please see attachments for my machine and J1 and J3 connectors.
Thanks
