WMS BB3 Blade "Hard Drive / SSD not present"

Installed a few games in the past few weeks to the WMS BB3 Blade.  Just successfully installed "Cheshire Cat," and played for 5 minutes when the game froze with the background animations still playing.  2 minutes later, the game reset with the following red error:

Did my SSD finally fail or am I looking at a new CPU for this system?
Can anyone provide guidance on this one?

Everything is run on a battery backup; what happened is internal to the system.  I have run a RAM Clear which worked fine.  I cannot install any other games, as the  Hard Drive / SSD not present error occurs every time.  The 2 CF cards appear in the BIOS screen and the SSD does not sometimes.

SSD failed but I  would check to make sure both fans are working properly in case the CPU overheated.

The SSD in under the CF card slots.  There is a bar with 2 security screws covering it.  The bar has the labels on it for the CF card slots. There are 2 SSD card slots behind that bar.  I would try inserting it in the other slot and booting up just to make sure.

Very good idea.  I had removed the SSD from the slot it was in to order a new one.  I didn't think to swap the SATA slot it was in.

(un)fortunately after swapping SATA slots, I think it is just a bum generic SSD.  I get the same red error message in either port.  Hopefully an Apacer mo-297 64GB MLC industrial SSD is good enough for the job. Hopefully the CPU does not have a fried SATA controller.

New SSD ordered.  I will post any results.  If there are any other suggestions of what I can do with a broken SSD in a Blade, otherwise I am bored for a few days...

One more thing, check the width of the replacement SSD.  I found that some of those HalfSlim SSDs are too wide and won't fit in the slot.  Compare it to the one that was in there.

I ordered a STARTECH SATA 22pin Extension Cable (SATA22PEXT).  It works great with a cheap $10 120GB SSD in the WMS BB3 Blade system.  This is a great idea for those on a budget or where mo-297 is difficult to find.  It was just a defective SSD.  Thanks!
