s2000 coin-out jam
« on: January 17, 2015, 04:54:39 PM »
I have a friend with a 3 reel s2000 machine. It has a hopper as well.  The machine was working great but now shows " coin-outham" when you hit the cash out button.  The hopper was set to partial pay at $20 .... it is a quart er machine.   I triedcswitching hoppers , switching both  I/o cards , numerous 31 and 97 clears.   The hopper moves freely when you turn the plastic gear on the side.   There are no coins jammed bej inc the knife of the hopper.  Pins are straight on both I/o cards.   Like I said ; game was working great  and paying coins perfectly.  When you hit the cash out button, the hopper doesn't even try to spin..... just straight to coin out jam.    My next step is another power supply and then another cup board....any otther suggestions ?    Thanks, bill

Did you clear the hand pay after the cash out? Try turning the reset key with that error and then open and close the door. Make sure the door latch is all the way down.

I know it sounds offbeat, but computers sometimes do weird things. Trying the easy things first.

You might want to check your main battery, some times you can get strange random errors. Also check the all the plugs on the back plane. If you are positive it isn't the hopper, or an I/O card, then it would have to be the main board, back plane, or the wiring harness.

Tollguy, have you tried going into the settings and trying a hopper test?
You'll be able to watch the hopper as you attempt the test with the main door opened.

Hopper Test (Option: [4.7.1])

If the hopper is functioning properly, it will pay out ten coins.
Turn the attendant key when prompted, and press the SPIN REELS switch to test hopper operation.

hmm...I wish I had my machine here to help ya!  :banghead:

maybe you gotta get in the menu part where you can "Enable" the hopper
so you can use that Test Option?

...but normally...gee, it just does it on it's own when you start up the machine?
weird problem indeed!
