Thanks again,

the only button I see to push to access anything in the unit is a small white button on bottom of cpu main box.

once pushed it shows:

diagnostics

all tilts

I push the all tiles screen. says no tilts.

I push the diagnostics screen and a few tiles come up to check like screen test, video test, sound test , etc.

I checked them but they don't get me into the area you mentioned, is there another button somewhere hidden I don't know about.??

I tried emailing the guy I bought it from but to no avail.

SO heat is not the issue... so it must be something causing the error I don't know about yet.

I can build engines and race motors, but this is new to me. I am 65 now and I still try and retain what I see and learn. Sorry for so many questions , I am looking forward to hearing answers from all.

Wait a minute Lost, when you referred to being able to select different games to play, are you meaning switching from BlackJack to Poker, for instance? Or are you talking about enabling different games, like from 98% BlackJack to 99% BlackJack?

Are you able to get to your Home/Main Menu screen, that shows the games that are currently Enabled (where you touch one and it takes you into play that game, as you would in a casino)? OR, are you referring to the screen within the program that allows you to ENABLE different game profiles/percentages entirely, so that they are shown on the Home/Main Menu?

Just pushing the white button in this case is not going to help you. As I said I think you have a 2.0 or 2.5 and most likely a 2.5 that requires a jumper that would help matters and A e-key is needed etc. Most likely you seen all the games available on the internal program menu-Not the outer patron axcess menus!.

the games that are enabled on the main screen like at a casino work fine when pushing the game type tab and then pushing the game that I want to play, all works.

I want to get into the program when I can change the games I want to be able to play,

I remember the guy want in the program where it showed the games and like 98% maybe payback or something like that, and in these program he clicked the tabs and added the games I want to show on the main screen and removed some I didn't want to play at the time.

getting to this program is what I am interested in and so I can change the time on the machine if needed.

Getting ready to turn in for the nite. You have to have the e- keys to axcess and make any changes. Study your game more and obtain yourself a manual. Become more educated about that game. These, For the most part can be and most of the time very difficult for new users--About triple worse than bally alphas!. These However are very fun machines when working so the effort should be there on your part and anyone else wanting to dive off into these. Hope you make some progress and I think we have helped some here on your game. Also--Welecome aboard--

I will check with a couple places here in Las Vegas about a manual and
what the e-key is exactly,

I will also get a tech from one of the local casino's to check it out if it comes to that...

Don't know exactly. I would download everything, as with any other platforms, there are definite similarities among the models. Unfortunately, IGT (and about every other manufacturers) manuals are not User Guides, as you will see. They are helpful with identifying hardware, basic knowledge of the machine, and some top line Troubleshooting. Many of the Troubleshooting resolves are "Replace XXXXXXX" or suggest clearing the machine. This is where owning a slot on the secondary market gets hairy, as parts availability and step-by-step instructions are not always plentiful (or even existent, in some situations).

e-keys are a avp essentual. There are a 3,4,5 and a 7. The 7 makes up 3,4 and 5 all in one. These are thumb drive type that look just like your lic. dongle. These keys CANNOT be copied!. The diag. thumb drive/flash can on most. Take a pic of your logic door open and post.

looks like mine is a 2.0

I see that the manual shows multiple menu buttons.

mine only shows:
diagnostics
event log

the rest are not shown, so that's why I can't get to the menus and submenus I need.

if I need e-keys, Where can I obtain them?

Sizzle mentioned my logic board pic, need to post one. IS the logic board the one with the Dongle and 8 usb ports on it?
or the one inside the metal box (that is removable and) has the cpu in it??

The front door on your brain box with the lock on it. If it is a 2.0 you will have to use a jumper as well and some early early model 2.5 were this way before the write/enable dip/toggle switch came out. Best that you learn all you can about your specific machine as it helps you iminselly-sorry about the spelling.

it mentions a License Key?
and some other e-keys?

You were mentioning a jumper?. since it's a 2.0

reading further.
mentions Menu Screens under 1.2.1

It says there are 7 menu screens and an eighth for privileged .

MINE only shows the 2 menus"

what would be the fix for this?

How are you accessing the menu? If just by way of the JP key that might be why...limited access for attendant. Usually to gain access to all the menus you need to push the white test button. You can see it in your picture 9955.

I use the white button.

I read to clear the credits if wanting to work on machine.
I cleared the credits, I NOW get an Attendant Menu with 6 buttons. see pics'.

I can use these and then the sub menus.

I can't however get to:

Main Menu or
Privilege menu.
without the e-keys for them.

Update:

using the white button on the main logic box.

pics of the screen with 6 buttons in operator menu.

I still have the problem of machine going to the RED screens error in original post after a few minutes (see pic of screen).

then having to restart the machine and have the same problem anyway. it may go to the red screen in 4-15 minutes, with or without play.
