Converting Alpha to 1 gig

OK I bought a 1 gig to replace my slow 512. Did the clear and used the o/s card supplied and my game card. During boot up as it starts to load game, then it stops the reels and gives message (1) No entry validation found for link file ASH. Any idea's? If I remember right, I can't set the machine up until it boots.

Lets go over a few things...

The game you are trying to load, same game as you had in your 512 box?

Have you done a ram clear?

What OS and bios are you using?

This is the newer 1gig board with additional memory slot?

Sorry to ask so many questions but never seen this error.

Try RAM CLEARING again. If you are using the same Ram Clear from the 512 box and were using a different OS that may be the problem.

Can you fill me in on what you are running?

It was user error. I put the cards in the wrong slots. MUST have ruined new o/s card. I put my old o/s card and game card in then set it up. Used to take 15 minutes to boot, load game, and features. Now less than 5 minutes. I put my old o/s card in top slot and new o/s card in bottom slot. That's when I got the errors. Just didn't pay attention. Thanks for the help.

Do you have another game to load up because I have made the mistake once before and it never corrupted the card. Just for shits and giggles, remove the MPU and when you push it back in make sure you push hard... just want to make sure every pin gets a good connection.
