New arrival...... Bally 956 Low Boy
« on: January 08, 2016, 04:20:12 AM »
Hi everybody, time for a now project, picked this 956 up yesterday, but of course..it needs some work, thats why I bought it in the first place, no fun when everything works as it should.

Anybody knows if these machine's were made in big numbers, as I dont see a lot of them on the internet. the glass plate refers to the Hilton casino is that correct ?

anyway, picture first, problems will come soon  :Tongue_Out:

spend some time on the machine today , first discovering that the rubber in the daspot switch tube was not really a rubber anymore, more like and unkown soft substance, fixed that, after some cleaning and comparing switches discovered a switch which was open instead of closed.. and know there is movement in the hopper, very happy know. tomorrow some fine tuning and spring adjustments and I think this one is back in bussiness.

Great find especially if you got it at the right price.  The games are not as rare as some of the exotics however they are not run of the mill like an 809 or 873.  Congratulations and please keep us posted.  If you want to put the rubber back in the piston there is a work around that has been discussed on this list.

Hi,

Paid € 200 euros for the machine (picked it up in the Netherlands, I live in Belgium) , so far no extra costs, found some extra parts with the cleaning out of the machine, but it seems I'am Lucky and it's and easy fix. the square red candle top is missing, any ideas were I can find one ?

The lights show up on ebay pretty often.  I did not see any of the vintage ones on there currently.  I would suggest if you are in a hurry post ad WTB ad in the NLG classified section.

only "modern" round ones on ebay at the moment.

After some testing discovered the hopper is not functioning properly, the no17 ratchet & shaft seems to be broken were the spiral cam slips over, trying to glue it know... hope it holds but not to happy with it..

thanks, I'll send them a message.

So I repaired the the shaft, as its hollow you can put a rod through it.

Next thing.. I just discovered that when I should have a 20coin payout I get 40 and when I have a 100 the machine just empties the hopper...

Ar you referring to part number 1 7 on page 107 of the manual that's the hundred to gear and I'm sure they have several of those there too and you might want to replace it before you try to run and if its binding up it'll cause it to overpay like.

that is the one, as glueing the old plastic is not really working I put a rod with thread on it trough the shaft, with secures the broken part with a nut, the piece going into the wiper board was broken, seems to work fine. I'll go for the rubber stop now (page 111 part 73) as there is not much rubber left. let's see if that helps

Please post some pictures of your hoppers spiral cam and bumper stop. Your wipers on the spiral cam should contact the wiper board in the 6&12 o'clock position when returned to the starting (zero) position. Also check to make sure that your wiper contacts are touching the trace on the wiper board.

yes, any bar payout $5 should be 20 coins but gives 40
the next step is the 5bar should be $25, 100 coins, but empties the hopper completly...

Will post a pic later
