Bally E 1000 will not boot - bad U10 IC on I/O board
« on: August 15, 2016, 02:31:12 PM »
Hi all,
This is my first post on this website. I picked up 2 bally slot machines (e 1000). Anyway, after several hours of troubleshooting, i have determined that U10 prom on I/O board is bad (part number E751-4). The problem follows the chip. The bad chip in the U10 postion will not run hopper test. The bad chip in U15 will not boot properly. These symptoms happen on any I/O board.

Ok, so what do I do now? I can order a chip but i am pretty sure it will have to be programmed.
Can I find an old I/O board? Yes, but will the proms be good?
Does someone out there have a chip to sell or program for me?

Thanks for any help!

John

Are both chips bad (U10 and U15)? They both have the same programming and are both E-751-4.

Just one chip is bad. U10 and U15 are the same (E751-4). The bad chip in U10 will not run hopper test. The bad chip in U15 will not boot properly. Problems follows chip in both I/O boards.

Now I understand, you move U10 to U15 and boot is messed up, the bad chip in U10 then the hopper does not run.

I responded to your PM through email.
