Bally s6000 free play error
« on: December 10, 2020, 01:40:07 PM »
Good afternoon ! Newbie here and newbie to my machines.  I have a Bally s6000 that gives me an error 30 after a few spins .. I was told it was hopper error.  My machine is set up as a free play and I don’t believe it has a hopper .. anyone know to clear this error 30 !? If I do a safe ram clear will that mess up the programming for free play ? I don’t know how to set that up and I’m not trying to make anything worse !   Thanks

Dale

Hello Dale and welcome to NLG.

I'm not completely familiar with the Bally's yet, but just received an S6000 that is set up for Free Play only, which I'm sure is quite similar to yours.

I do know that code 30 refers to an extra coin being paid out from the hopper, but if you don't have a hopper, then it must be generated from elsewhere in the logic circuits.

On my machine I have a small PCB attached to the Coin comparator harness,  then 2 wires run from it up to the Service button. Pressing the button applies the credits.

I also have a small Circuit Board plugged into the Backplane which I believe is the Hopper Simulator card. I could be wrong though.

I will try to get a better look at everything for you soon and post some photos of my setup. Maybe that will help you in determining what you have or need to get things going again.

I did do a SafeRam Clear when I got my machine and it did not affect any of the free play options.

Hopefully we'll get this figured out. In the meantime, maybe someone with more experience will chime in.
