error codes are totally different.  I don't recall seeing docs on the site about the S platform.

No not really,  the error codes for a S machine pretty much went along to the S+ . they were all numerical codes,  there were 13 error codes for the S machine.  12= low battery, 21 coin in tilt, 31= extra coin paid out etc.  only had two 60 codes, 61= bad cmos ram,  62= bad eprom.


the S+ kept all the basic ones and added a bunch more.


the S-2000 is all different, same meaning for the codes, except they are done Alpha/Numeric display style.

Thank you for the info ... just trying to help a friend who has a S machine and not much knowledge in the codes or display settings. I had him replace the battery and it brought it back up but it shows a 9999 in the display and I think he has hit buttons to change things. I do more with the EM Ballys and old mechanical Mills and Jennings ect .. ect. Wish i knew where to get a manual on the S machines.

Dave I cant seem to find anything on the codes for your friends "S" machine, but I have every schematic you can think of for these, and if you need any of them, pm me your address, and ill mail it to you..you can make copys of whatever you want and send mine back..jim

The S machine operates the same as a S+ in the service mode. The service mode is when the door is open. you can press the white test button (near the power on/off switch) each time you press it it will take you to the next test, the tests are laid out just the the S+, input test,output test, sound test, hopper test , etc.  he is probably in the #8 test which allows you to set the hopper max payout OR  he turned the jackpot reset switch ( with the door closed) and he is in the bookkeeping mode. if in the bookkeeping mode ,you have to keep turning the key until you step through all the data (usually seven times)  then it takes you back to the game play mode.
