Destroyed WMS slots today ?
« on: March 23, 2018, 03:13:15 PM »
Stopped at a little casino in South Dakota today. When we came out to go home we heard this crashing sound. They were dropping bucket loads of WMS slots from a payloader onto the pavement. Cabinets, screens ,cpu's laying all over the ground. I should have stopped and asked. Do they have to destroy them. BB1's or BB2's. Looked like alot of good stuff.

That casino may have been complying with their contract agreement with the manufacturer (WMS).

It's definitely a shame, but the companies that make slot machines often don't want the older ones ending up sold to a casino overseas (or anywhere for that matter), that could reduce orders for new machines. And they don't want to mess with selling them to private owners like us. Seems like they'd want to keep some of the parts for repairs on the same model machines that are still in service at other locations, but they have their reasons and it's most likely got to do with money.

Talked to slot tech at Dakota Magic "ND" native casino and he told me if the slot companies don't take the machine in on trade they have to destroy them. Can not sell them.
