Long time fan, first time owner (Bally E-series)
« on: July 10, 2018, 12:15:37 PM »
Noob here.  Wife found this beauty for a steal!  Needs only (I'm hoping) a $15 switch to be fully functional.  Or if not, I'll be picking some brains here.  Haven't had time to look around yet in case there's a sub-forum for these.

Any way to find out what exact model I have?  Print on paper tag is faded away.  Found a maintenance manual PDF (for E-series in general), but still looking for an operator manual.

Welcome to NLG and congratulations on the machine your wife found!    :waving_flag:

I moved your post to the correct forum area (I think), based on your post's title and what you said about the Bally E-series manual. The choices were 1) Bally EM, or 2) Bally E-series machines, or 3) Bally M-series machines. If I got it wrong someone will correct me and we'll get it fixed.

If it is an E-series machine (E-1000, E-2000) I think there should be a large I/O board mounted on the back wall. And the main logic circuit board (called the "mpu") is mounted on the left side wall. I'm not seeing any circuit boards in the machine so not sure it is an E-series machine?? Can you post more photos, including one of the entire front of machine with door closed?

Is it missing the hopper, or did you remove it for some reason?

What is the $15 switch you are referring to that is needed?  (power switch, door open switch, etc)?

EDIT- I brightened your photo and can see the mpu board on the left side of the machine, that white cylinder part is the battery for the cmos ram.

No prob.  Just put it in general discussion because I hadn't browsed the whole forum yet.

Is complete, had it out.  More pics later.

Have the switch on the way.  The coin counting 'cherry switch', E51, or whatever it's called.

Is there no serial tag on the lower right side of the game? That's where you would find the serial number, model and year of MFG. Sometimes those are removed though.

If the cabinet tags removed, you can usually find inside on the front of the reels or written on a tag hanging from the wiring the machines model number. Sometimes it’s even scribed in the metal plate on the front of the reels.
What are the problems or the symptoms of your game? I work on these style Bally slots.
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Such a cool machine :) AWSOME find

Did I mention it was $50?  Just blocks from our house?  Love it!

Was just that $15 switch.  But after a few thousand coins the handle started getting 'sticky'.  The seal of air cylinder turned into tar.  Fixing that now...

Those deals are nice when they happen! Is it mostly working, any major issues?
