Game King 19" Monitor Wiring Harness
« on: December 13, 2019, 03:20:16 PM »
I need a wiring harness for a KORTEK 19” LCD that runs from the AD board to the Inverter.
While trying to remove the harness it broke.  I can do a solder job, but I don’t know where the 2 pins belong.

I do not have any parts you need.  I think I have the wiring straighted out, and I will just solder them to the board.

Thanks

When I picked it up, the Game King had a Ram Error, and the monitor was working.
After I transported it to my house, I replaced the battery on the 044 MPU.  The original battery was completely dead.  When I turned it on, the LCD was blank.  However, the LED Light on the menu/adjust board is solid green.
At one point the machine booted up, and I could play games.  However, the screen was black, but the touch screen was working.
I have completed the following:
Re-seated everything
Checked the machine for bad chaffing wires
Changed the power supply
Getting 120V to the monitor power supply and 12V out
Getting 12V to the inverter board
Checked the monitor PS and inverter Caps all good
Remove the MPU power up, and the monitor is black
All lights on the MPU are amber except the last 2, and they are green.
Will a bad MPU, flash board or mother board keep the monitor from working?
I hate to shot gun this machine by throwing money on parts I don’t need.  I have a bad feeling I will end up spending $500+ for a new monitor.  However, I have an inverter coming today.  If that does not work, I will try an AD board, and lastly I will try a CCFL to LED backlight Kit, but I have some questions about this mod.
I will post the results of the new inverter board later.
Thanks

MPU LEDs are normal, so it appears to be booting OK.  I've had more than one inverter board go bad on Kortek monitors, hopefully replacing that will get it working again.  There's a small surface mount fuse labeled F1 on the inverter that you can check with a DMM.  I've fixed a couple of them by replacing the fuse.  Not sure why it blew, but it did.

From pin 1 on the inverter connector to the back side of F1 it reads a short.  However, across F1 it reads 270 ohms on both legs.  It seems to me it should be a dead short.

Yes it should read 0 ohms across both leads of F1.

During the monitor set up it states line up the white line with the bezel, but I need guidence on how to adjust the "white line"'.

Thanks in advance

Did you try using the auto adjust menu option?

the auto adjust should be the button next to the green led.

auto adjust
power led
wire harness connection
up
down
select
menu.

I tried the button several times, but the screen is still to the right.  I check the button with a meter later today.

Thanks

Can you get into the "menu"...it sounds like your "auto adjust" just "remembers" when the screen is too far right.

In the menu, you should be able to get to a "horizontal" option to move the display leftwards?

Can you give me the exact numbers of the LCD model?

Maybe I can find something on adjusting it.

Monitor is a Kortek KTL190LE02-01
Then horizontal position is at zero, and the screen moved to the left.  However, it still needs to go the left a bit, but it is much better.
 Thanks for any help

The manual I found from Kortek says...>>>

"3. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS   3-1  LOCATION  FUNCTION OF CONTROL PCB ASS'Y 4-1 ADJUSTMENT CONTROL
When  servicing,  always  face  the  monitor  to  the  east"
2) Warm-up time
The monitor must be on for 30 minutes before starting alignment.
Warm-up time is especially  critical  in  color  temperature  and  white  balance  adjustments"

I know this manual is for a CRT but I never knew that and still don't know why you'd have to "face the monitor to the east"?  :rotfl:

Anyways, I'll keep looking for the LCD service manual  :sherlock:

I however, did find a phone number for customer support? Link below...>>>

https://www.korteksolutions.com/about-us/support-center/

Also an old NLG post about someone seeking help...>>>

http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?action=printpage;topic=4126.0

Finally, in the Delphi forums, there's discussion about the A/D boards not having the correct firmware for the LCD size...>>>

http://forums.delphiforums.com/slottech/messages?msg=12445.1

I hope any of this helps ya!

Update on my Game King Kortek Monitor
Well I fumbled around with the monitor settings, and discovered the “Gaming” setting under the OSD option was on “3 IGT-AVP”.  I changed it to “2 IGT-044”, and the screen is now lined up horizontally.  However it is very slightly stretched from top to bottom.  I am still working on this problem.
I hope this helps others.
Does anyone know the part number for the inverter connection for the harness from the AD board?
Thanks Everyone
