HELP?!?! Broken Bally Alpha Pro 22/22
« on: January 18, 2021, 09:33:46 PM »
Hi guys,

My Bally Alpha Pro 22/22 machine seems to have stopped working and hoping someone can help me out without having to replace the CPU unit.
This machine has always had a bent part where the HDMI cable goes (as seen in the photos) its worked no problems but when I took out the Unit to replace the hard drive or a new game it got caught and seemed to bend further more. I unbent it slightly put the new game hard drive in and connected all the cords and now its not working? It comes up with the no signal screen with the white/red/green/blue/white screen (photo attached) Lights seem to turn on in the cpu unit when I turn the machine on but nothing happens except that first screen.

Have tried different cords etc and nothing is working - please someone tell me there is something I can do to fix this issue please? Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!!!

Maybe take that off and bend it back, then use 2 nuts and secure it like its meant? Make sure the vid card is seated to the side board and thats seated down to the CPU?

Thanks Harvs - I did try to bend it back in as best I could, I even used tape to straighten in up. Also took out the video card and put it back in and no help! :( Thanks for the help though, this is stressing me out atm.

remove it from the vid card and bend back. It's only held by the DVI screw/mounts.

At least that's fixed now (as long as you found nuts to tighten it to the CPU frame).

Now plug it all back in and see if the CPU is booting.. look at the red light by the test button. (plug the power line in on the upper right of CPU. People always forget that and think its broken.)

Did that previously and still not working - the lights all turn on - I can see red buttons where you put the game card in, and the light is on for the test button :( Power plug is in too!

Pull the video card out, and plug the main monitor to one of the mpu's vga ports (you may need an adapter).  If you get a video signal, your video card is bad.

Also when you power up the machine, the mpu should beep once to signify it passed the POST test, that is also an indicator that the mpu works, but he video card doesn't.
