S2000 Haywire Info/Help needed

Hi everyone. So i have a chance to get this S2000 haywire machine. It is currently non working. Apparently it was working then a friend of the seller took out a component and it never worked again. The guy is no where to be found so nobody knows what was removed. All the seller says was he removed brain chip... lol So this will be my first S2000 i have s slots & s+ slots but no S2000's. Here are a few pics of the machine in question. Can anyone tell me if anything is missing on the board? I don't wanna get the machine and be SOL. Thanks everyone!

When i look at other s2000 boards I see another board that sits on the MPU board? this one does not seem to have that board. Is that whats missing? what board would that be?

Nice machine!

The Double Diamond Haywire was the first S2000 I fooled around with!


All that's missing is the MMLB which is a sound board.

Those aren't expensive.....NLG vendors would have it.

They are called IGT S2000 Multi -Media Lite Boards and use a SIMM card for different games.

Yours would work fine with an DSV00042 SIMM card which goes into the long slot on that MMLB board.

is that the board I see piggy backed on the MPU boards in other pics? Are they all the same? So getting one will be easy task or are there several different ones?

I see nothing missing on the MPU. That is a 501 MPU. Enhanced sound is not a requirement & frankly would be noisy on a 501. I can not tell if the power supply is in there behind the reels. Does it power on at all?

yes it is turned on in the pic. it says ram err on the display. looks like the glass lights are on also. hard to tell. looks like he used flash on his camera when he took the pic. I have not see the machine in person. tonight i am supposed to see it. all he knows it was working.. someone took something out and never worked again...

I'm not seeing it either. I also see the red wire (+13V) for the denomination button laying inside the door. That needs to be repaired. Being grounded will cause a dead short.

Okay so is that board available? Costly? Different versions or just one? Where does that board mount? If that wire shorted... damage to what occurs? These are hard to find up here in alaska. Is $150-200 resonable?

A Door I/O board is usually under $30.  The red wire has +12 volts, so if it touches anything metal, it will short out and cause some fuses to blow, or worse, damage to other components.  First thing that needs to be done is look for more wires that are exposed like that.  If you don't know where they go at first, put some electrical tape on the end to insulate it.

The Ram error is probably because the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.  You will need a key chip to enable and change certain things back after replacing the battery. Probably should get a clear chip just in case as well.  Key and clear chips should also go under $20 each typically.  Hard to tell what else is missing.

Looks like we're finding more and more stuff missing....offer him a $100 for the barn door stop.
You're gunna be pulling out some Benjamin Franklins really soon.

Not to discourage you but somebody didn't just pull out a small board....they YANKED stuff out and pulled out wires.

We can help you but you're going to have to post better pictures with at least one side of the photos at 1000KB in order for us to put away our magnifying glasses... lol

Okay well I bought it. I had to give him 200 but up here in AK they are hard to find and repairing these machines is my new found hobby that is providing much needed enjoyment so what the heck why not. Its late and I'm tired so its out in the shop and I'm inside. I'm looking forward to getting this thing all fixed up. I'm sure you all will be hearing from me soon enough lol. Oh and I also found an old IGT draw poker today. Fun stuff! Thanks to all of you for all of your help!

check to see if there is any white "fuzz" or green crud around the green varta battery,  remove that battery ASAP, that may help you save that board!

No harm paying $200 for that. You could part it out for more but I would hate to see that happen.
The DDH game kit is arguably worth that. If the door I/O is indeed missing, I would have no problem
shipping you one to AK or anything else that would fit in a USPS flat rate box.

Okay I'll try this again.. took some new pics this am before leaving for work. Im super busy so this will be an on going repair. But gotta get pics posted first. Then ill start making a list of repairs and a parts list. The start the repair process. So I hope this works.. my 4th try lol. having to resize imgs.
