Sigma Mech 3 reel "Over Paid" error message.

The original poster had not been on the forum for 5 years.
Two of the members who replied have passed away.
One member retired.

There are members (such as Chris in the reply below) that can chime in and help you out. Most manuals aren't all that user friendly as they're designed for technicians, not a home user.

Good suggestion for manuals Shortrackskater I have downloaded manuals from there before with moderate luck getting the information I needed, simply because most manuals don't cover technical troubleshooting. But they were a good source.
I'm curious what information jont56 is looking for.  There are a few of us who have worked on Sigma 3-reels and they usually have common symptoms that can be worked through. There is also a manual on the NLG File system for the older version, there might be some information that will help. These games usually reset and come back to life quite nicely after resolving power issues that are common in them.

Hi Chris,
My particular issue is that my machine is working, but on every payout I get an "Over Paid" error message and then I must reset the machine.
Trying to fix that issue.  I am new to slot machines, so I am hoping to avoid any unnecessary actions to find out I just need to do something simple.
Maybe someone has had the same issue and can advise on a course of action?

Just as a follow up... I tried accessing the NLG File System to see what I could find, and I received a message that said I wasn't authorized to access the file.

I assume your cashing out via the hopper...If so, it sounds like the brake on the hopper motor is not working correctly and it dispensing out an extra coin...Does it?

Good thought, he could press the credit button to make it retain credit instead of paying out to verify the machine is otherwise working.

Yep, sure enough it is paying 1 more coin than it should.

Usually you can just clean the brake mechanism as it sometimes sticks and you should be good to go...

I think you press the cash out button while it has no coin in play. It should light up.

You need to be a contributing member to access file downloads. Lots of files available. But not cheap to retain on a server.

Thanks Dinoman and any other member who recommended I service the brake on my hopper.
my Sigma W4413 works perfectly now.  Also thanks to Jim.  He confirmed the Sigma board he
had for sale would directly replace the B31-1D board I have.  So I purchased his board as a spare.
Also picked up a service/repair manual.  Lets go Brandon!
