Wba12/13 will not light up
« on: January 08, 2024, 01:00:49 PM »
Bought a machine from a guy said one day bill validator stopped working. No light on the front
Got it to my shop and put the bv in a working machine and it worked fine. Put a working bv in the machine same thing on. Checked the the wires and reconnected them. Looked at the wiring reconnected all three the the bv no change. Pull board and put in a working machine all worked fine. Looked at the cash box gears good no change. On start up the bv go’s through it start up but at the end no two little cycles. I have a working  bv and good board cash can reset 10 times bv is enabled. Where do I go from here?

You might have something on the netplex bus that is messing things up.  Does the machine work other than the validator.  Try unplugging the printer if you have one to see if it fixes the issue.

Perform a Netplex Autoconfig from the self test menus and see if that helps.

I ran the Netplex Autoconfig several time and nothing changed. I need to understand how the bv works on a 2000 in order to fix it. I believe maybe a wire is open and not sending a signal to the bv. I have tried about every thing on this machine. If the board and bv work in a different cabinet . If this is like the splus the only other thing is the 6 pin dip on the motherboard.

Ok, sometimes that works, most often not though.

An open wire or damaged pin is a possibility.  Have you checked or replaced the wiring harness on the back of the validator housing?

This is starting to get to me longest I worked on a slot with one progress.
I pull the bv holder out ohm all the wires and check for bent pins replaced no change
Remove it again put a different one in it place no change.
When I run the netplex autoconfig it’s says print not connected there is no printer but nothing about bv
When machine is sitting it’s says play two coins insert coins
There is no coin mechanism in this machine.
