I am having a similar issue my bill validator. My s+ is doing the same thing I have the on off chip and went through the procedure over and over again. Did the denomination for 25 cents replaced the bill validator and still when I turn it on it runs through the initial set up but will not light up or turn on how do I fix this is there a interlock I am not checking I need some one to help please.

Does the machine take coins and Play ?


You will need to ensure that the Cash Can is inserted and the cash can door closed.
If the cash can is missing the BV won't light up.

It is not accepting coins either the bv cash can is installed and is still not lighting up it dose the start up procedure then stops working

If it won't take coins - it won't take bills.


Lets start at the beginning
With the power on and the door open


- Does the 25c denomination sticker in the middle of the reel glass light up ?
- With the power on, door open are the reels stiff or loose ?
- When you close the door does the reels spin ?

Power on door open reels stiff door closed reels spin once then go to idling mode and readout is 0 on coins in

These are good signs.
The Stiff reels indicate your getting proper power.
The reels spinning when the door is closed means that the machine recognizes your door closed and your optics are good.


Do you see the light that says "insert coins" lit ?


With the door open - do you have a sample coin in the coin comparator ?  If so perhaps change it out with a different quarter - we have seen times where the coin is no longer recognized. This is more common with tokens that have questionable metal properties but it has happened with quarters.


Is the comparator a CC-16 or a CC-33


Below the coin comparator is a small square electronic block.
This is called the ABC optic - there are 3 optics and as a coin passes it triggers each optic
There are some security features built in such as if you have a string attached to your coin it senses that you pulled it back.
If you look very closely you will see that there is a tiny (tiny) button - this should put a test credit on your machine.
Can you play the test credit ?

No light on the coin test credits do play bill still won’t except bills coins still won’t get excepted through the coin no green light on coin comparator what is the next step. When I cheat though lock in the back of the coin comparator to let the coin through I get a 21 tilt fault on the machine

The light on the coin comparitor only comes on when the door is closed. So you won't ever see it unless you bury a camera in there.


Do you have a sample coin in the comparator ??

Are the coins dropping through to the hopper or are they being dumped to the coin tray ?

What chips are in your machine ?
