IGT S+ 10MHz MPU question
« on: June 30, 2021, 02:21:13 AM »
Question (and I apologize ahead of time if in the wrong forums section):

Does anyone have the part number for the 10MHz MPU sound/audio board mounted dial potentiometer?

I have tried to sweep mine from from side to side to clean possible oxidation inside the potentiometer, but even still the audio is either “level 11 or 0”.  I know the resistance is changing, albeit very little when reading across the currently installed potentiometer (don’t remember the exact ohmic value on hand.).

There isn’t really a happy medium.  It is still full blast volume from the smallest of nudges from the “full off” position.  I even went as far to adding a 2nd audio potentiometer inline between the speaker and the MPU board to try and tame the audio to a respectable listening level.

I am currently at work and away from the machine/MPU for 2 weeks so I wont be able to answer specific questions you may have that would require me to be present with it.

Ultimately just trying to replace the potentiometer on an otherwise fully functioning MPU without having to purchase an entire replacement MPU. Furthermore, have one available for install for when I get home from work.

Thanks

I don't have the IGT part number.  The potentiometer used on my S+ board is made by CTS and their part number is 201-UR-103-B (10k ohm).
