Reprogram card reader on s+

Hello all
Since you all helped me get my double diamond going yesterday I'm afraid my wife is going to wear it out. I bet if I take the door key away it will slow her down from recycling those quarters! Anyway the slot came with one of those card readers on the side with a scrolling message from the casino it came from. I was going to remove it but the wife said it makes it more authentic  :Scratch-Head:  then she comes up with the idea that I should change the message to something more personal or clever like..........our name. So once again I call on the gurus to bail me out. Can it be done?

Yes it has a message scrolling across. I popped the cover off and it looks like it has an EPROMs. I'll take a pic when I get home.

Yes, it has a reprogrammable flash eprom. The message can be changed with an eprom burner, A few of here have done it many times.

Sounds like you are familiar with what I have. I will have to find my burner. I have not used it (or seen it) for some time now....like 10 years maybe lol. I'm sure it is up on....or under.....or inside....hmmmmm maybe time for a new one!

Just make sure you save a copy of the chip before you start. That way you have a place to restart if you mess up.

I know this is a shot in the dark since the topic is so old, but did you ever end up reprogramming your old card reader? I’m getting one of these soon and would like to change the scrolling message.
