Best way to remove rust spots-rust pits on chrome main door?

Any advice on what to use other than steel wool and a hand held non motorized wire brush? Most of the spots are on the deck where the buttons are. This machine has been on a screened in deck for a few years, everything else is fine on the machine. Thanks in advance

Turtle wax chrome polish works pretty good.

Mothers Mag or Billet Cleaner polish.  Works great on chrome and even polishing stainless steal using a polish wheel (you can get a small white cloth disc and install on a drill to get a mirror shine).

I'll need something stronger first to get the actual rust spots off but I will try one of those chrome polish products to finish it off, thanks guys

A clay bar is highly effective with this, i'd use Adams Polishes Visco Clay Bar. I own a detailing business and it works wonders.

Scrubbing with a ball of wet tinfoil works like magic, try it.

I’ve had success with bad corrosion by wet sanding using oil instead of water.  1000 grit<2000grit<compound with drill buffer wheel, then buff with cleaner wax.




Deep pits will still be a little visible, but the appearance and shine is 95% better than rust.
