key chip 17 not working?

IGT S2000 Double Diamond Deluxe with the folding handle MPU

My game chips are SG000362, so I purchased key chip 17 per the chart to be able to change the odds. when I put key chip 17 in the MPU LEDs all light up and the red LED flashes. I've waited a fair bit for the 2 amber LEDs but the lights have not changed.


Did I purchase the wrong chips, or am I just not waiting long enough?

SG362 calls for Key 31.  It sounds like your keychip is bad though as it doesn't appear the MPU is booting it at all.

What MPU are you using?

Edit: With 362s has to a 50x board. Chip in the right direction? I agree that it sounds like a chip issue.

the only mpu I am aware of with a folding handle is a 1270 board,  I think you need a key 45 and a 224 clear??

And some SG chips. SG000362 chips are certainly not optimal for a 1270.

I don't think it is a chip issue other than maybe the wrong chip. I have tried 2 different 17 chips, and they are definatly installed correctly. It's the MPU with the Varta battery, I do t k owners designation tho.

I will also verify you are using the wrong SG chips and wrong key/clear chips.

Those are best for 50x boards.  They can cause errors on an adapter board and 1270 combo.

A key chip should produce 2 amber LEDs almost immediately after turning on the machine. You must have zero credits for a key chip to work. Inspect your MPU & the memory board for bent or broken pins but it sounds like it works until you insert the key chip. SG000362 chips will function on a 1270 but will cause reel tilts at boot up. SG000523 or 598 recommended. IVC00224 (clear) & KEY00045 work on anything S2000 except R boards.
