s2000 back lit issue
« on: May 08, 2021, 05:12:58 PM »

started up a new machine that is ran by an R-Board..had to do the normal varta removal, clipped u16...cleared and reprogrammed...
5 reel led backlit reels...all backlit lights on and seem very bright..except reel 4 which had 0 backlit lights on
replaced the board behind the reels...now all 5 reels lit but still seem very bright...I have nothing to really compare the
brightness except for regular bulb brightness (I used a led based board, not a light bulb board)
game programmed without any issues so I played the game...no flashing backlit lights on wins
replaced the board outside of the cpu box, no change
the display that shows lines and quantity wins works fine
any issues of what to look at next?
thanks!!
Steve

Are you using the LED harness? Pictures would help.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

I'm using the harness that was in the machine..im thinking that it has to be the led harness because it has the black molex connector that plugs into the led light board...
are there different ones?
not sure what I can send pics of..
thanks!!!

The one with the black connector is LED. Had a similar issue with a RG board using incandescent reels.

good new but bad news...I found a machine downstairs that has led backlit reels..thank you Top Dollar!!!
anyways, yes, seems the correct cable is install, and yes, the lights are very bright when compared to
my top dollar...
ive got to run out for a bit, but I think, just for the heck of it, ill swap out the harness anyways...and prob swap the
controller board out for the top dollar one too.
doesn't seem to be a cpu board issue, but with the varta's...who knows.
any help is very much appreciated!!!
thanks!!!
