S-AVP OS install error

Hey Barry
I believe it is the Super 3X4X5 times pay we changed over to the Double 3X4X5. Its a 3 reeler , I think he is trying to put in the TRH7s? I don't remember why it was changed over unless I was having an issue I couldn't figure out.  ( probably, lol)

No problem Dale,  The game worked when it left the door for what it was-did it not?.  It was stated that a totally diff. brain box was used and the software in question was used and yet the same result--what does that tell you?.  Tells me I do not have all the info OR---.    These are generally fairly easy especially once they are going and one becomes familiar with them.  The problems arrive when one messes with them and are NOT familiar with them.  I love the avp platform as it's advanced way above these but still avp based.

Dale is correct. The machine was a Double 3x4x5x when I got it from him and fully functional. That brainbox was pulled out and put aside since I don’t have any of the loaders associated with it so with a few turns of the key, settings, and enabling the game its back up and running.


I’m using a separate brainbox in an attempt to change over to a TRH7’s free games kit (4PJ5). (I have a 620 and 625 box aside from the one that was in the machine when I got it). I obtained the software and boot chips to meet the requirements for the game.


I did check for the version of the Boot chips in the diagnostic screen as well.  Attached is a photo from that screen.

Just wanted to give an update - I was able to resolve my problem. It was indeed a corrupt OS loader. I obtained another loader and all is good now!  (Barry - you hit the nail on the head with that)

That is Great!.  Also in the future upon more game changes it's a good idea to use the game manager to load games.  If you have not already done so this feature is enabled by inserting the e-key 7 -with no credits,  go to protocol and find meter collection and set to not required.  This way you leave machine on with e key inserted-go to game manager and load games thru it-It will not allow corrupted files into your system that way.  -- .

One more issue that has popped up for me - when I play the game as soon as I hit max bet or spin reels the machine locks up and reboots.


After reboot I receive the red screen of death with “Failed to Slam Spin in group Avp Reel Shelf”


Any possible insight into this?

I think that game requires the 'colored LED' reels, light bar and proper reel driver board. There are white LED setups and color setups on SAVP. Easy way to tell is to look at the color of the connector on the inside top of the door where it's plugged into the reel light bar, white = color, black = white LED.

Thanks Harvs. I do have the ‘color’ backlit reels and ‘color’ reel lights. I wonder if it could have something to do with the chip version on the driver board?
