I see one quarter laying next to the transformer. You might want to pull the inside apart and check for stray quarters possible under your mother board or back behind the MPU board. I would also check the plugs connecting to the Mother board. Look for and loose or burnt connectors. I know the S+ machine has a 6 wire plug white that tends to get hot and burn. Check these things before buying a transformer. I have not seen any go bad.
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Didn't find any other quarters, did find some broken wires though. Next to the transformer there is a red box with terminals on it, 3 input terms and 2 output terms, relay of some sort it looks like. Anyone know what I am talking about? Looks like 1 terminal has 2 green wires going to it and another terminal had no wire attached at all, a grey one cut short it looks like. Whoever had this machine before obviously wanted it not to work for the next guy or was trying to repair it and gave up, not sure. Also there is a small board up behind the upper light and counters, progressive board I'm guessing? This machine does have a label on it from Shooting Star Casino, after looking it up it is in Minnesota, I'm in Wisconsin, so makes sense.
