BB2 Boot Errors
« on: October 03, 2019, 07:00:52 PM »
I have a bb2 Wizard of Oz that keep fails on boot,  it stops in various places and even sometime boots all the way up.  When it does boot all the way it will play for a few minutes and gives a call attendant and the system halts.  I was wondering if it might be a malfunctioning hard drive.  I have attached a couple of screen shots.

I would try replacing the hard drive interface cable first.  I've had those errors before and it turned out to be the hard drive.  If a cable doesn't fix it, then it's probably the hard drive at that point, but I would try the cable first.

the length doesn't really matter, just get the shortest one you can so you don't have much slack.  If you can't get the power cable for it, you can always just cut off the data side of the connector.  I bought like a foot long power/sata cable from Amazon way back.  I'm sure you can still find them.  You could also just cut the power cable in half and splice it into a common SATA power/data cable.
