WMS 550 Changing WBA-11 to WBA-13

I have changed the transport connector and installed a working WBA-13 Do I need to clear the game for the new DBA to work. Currently the DBA is not power cycling or anything.

I don't believe you have to clear it, are you sure you have the correct software on the WBA?

Bob, do you have the WMS rs-232 conversion board behind the validator cage?  On my 550, the wba connects to that little board and then the board goes to the backplane.  What validator was in it before?  The validator uses IDO 03 and does not have the the side rs-232 add-on, since the WMS board behind the validator does the conversion.

This is a long distance over the phone repair!Does have the conversion board.


With all dip switches up the bill validator does not attempt to pull any bills in (bv bezel is not lite)
with a few dips down (I think he said 5,6,7 & 8) it does accept bill and put in cash can. 
He just put a new game software on machine so it may not be programmed properly

I have to 550 machines. One has the board on the back of the bill cage that has components on it for the RS232. the machine that I had the problem with has a board but it did not have the components on it for the RS232. I had to buy a Transport that has the 232 on it.

Ya, that is the board I have on eight WBA10/11, none of them worked in my 550 board tester.
So I converted to a WBA 12/13, none of them have a side board so I am told the board is behind the bill unit.
Where? What does this mystical board look like???

My guy got his working, the cash can was not being recognized.  Lubricated 2 prongs in back of bv housing.
now he needs to update the eprom.  He has 3.09 IDO3.
