E2000- Code 71000 - Reels Spinning?

I’ve got an e2000 series that was working great yesterday. I needed to move it from my garage to my basement and with the help of this forum figured out how to remove the hopper and reels to reduce weight.

Moving day, no sweat my son and I put it on a dolly and wheel it around the house to the basement.

Reinstalled the hopper and reels but now the reels spin continuously with a code 71 000 showing in the display.

Here’s a link to a video showing what’s going on. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve done  lot of reading on past posts but have not found alot of solutions. For example is this a reel error code or door open code?  Any way to clear it?  I’ve hit the reset-test buttons which sounds like it’s working, but the 71.000 never goes away.

I'm using BadBauds .pdf on jumping J3 to J1 to change that Code 71 to a Code 50 door open. Attached is a pic of where I'm putting that jumper.

Any tips on how to make that jumper? Been awhile since I've picked up my soldering iron (I'm an old ex-USCG bench tech) so I'm confident I can do the work. Looking for experienced recommendations on how to build that jumper. Do I even need to solder or can I just tie into the connector?

I went ahead and fashioned a jumper. While I'm happy to report I didn't blow anything up, I now have a code 50.00.0 showing instead of code 71.00.0. However, the reels continue to spin endlessly.  I've got to believe this is a reel sensor issue which will send me down another rabbit hole.

Suggestions and input are welcome.

I tested the door switch by the pull handle and it seems fine though I’m perplexed why there is only one wire to a lead on the switch. Ohm meter showed it open and closing.

Anyone have any input on the reels spinning problem?

Suspect a defective kick or arm switch on the side of the reel mech. Use test 3 to verify their proper operations.

Thanks very much for the reply.

I was getting continuity on the Kick switch when I opened and closed it, but when I read voltage it was 0VDC open and 0.23 closed. Running Test 3, I get a Code 20 on the Arm switch and no Code on the Kick switch.

So are my results typical of this failed switch and where would I look for a new one?

I opened and tried to clean/fix the switch. It gave me ok readings on the multimeter but still did not work. I reran Test 3 and it shows still failing. Fingers crossed this new switch solves the problem. Hopes are running high!!

Good news! Machine is back and working. It indeed was just the Kicker Switch. Shout out to Badbaud for hooking me up with one on eBay.

We're all pretty happy here as our Bally makes a great addition to our home theater and gameroom. There's more work to be done, but for now, this one is solved!!
