Hi,
Just picked up 2 Quarter and 2 $1.00 machines.  I can't find any numbers anywhere on them.  No ID plates inside or out.  Any ideas ??

Thanks !  All the machines work really well, I was surprised after I pulled them out of a garage at an estate sale.  Big and heavy, but in really pretty good shape and play well.  I will probably keep 1 $1.00 and 1 quarter but sell the other two.  I guess there probably are not many people interested in this type of machine, but if there are they could probably contact me through this site.  I would guess these are from the early to mid seventies so pretty old for most people.  Thanks again for the info.

You might be surprised at the marketability. They are just not they most popular machines on this particular site. Many people like them for a retro "old Vegas" feel.

Not positive on this, but here's my theory on why tags are sometimes missing from machines. All states have laws regarding the age of machines that are legal within the state. If the machine is to new, removing the tag eliminates an easy identification of it's age.  That's the only reason I can think of that someone would remove a tag.

Removing tags also hides the jurisdiction it was in, and who bought/sold it, etc. etc. etc.
Folks started eventually forcing sellers to engrave the serial and model # on the bottom of the pan.
I think that's standard practice nowadays, at least in Nevada I believe...
