Bally S5500 bill validator stay red

Hello,

On a Bally S5500, the diode on the JCM Bill Validator remained on red and never turns green. When the machine starts up I can hear the reader doing their test work, but the tickets never go through.

When taking the head apart I found a 3 pin connector with the wires cut off. What is this connector for? Thank you.

Usually the 5500 have a DBV-200.  Might be the problem?

Without being sure because that's what the owner told me, but obviously the bill validator was working before ...
