Working on a 6000 board, Triple Blazing 7's diamond line.
The SMI is 8027.
The board plays fine on the tester for about 3 games then displays a 80 code.
Clear is hard to do and takes 3 or more tries to get the CHC and CLC, otherwise I get fast flashing lamps and no display.
After a clear the game will play for a while and give another 80 code.
I put the software into another known good board and kept getting the same results.
The software was gotten from our library of 5500 chips.
Is this why I am getting 80 codes?
Can any 5500 chip set be put into a 6000 board or are there certain SMI numbers that are not compatible?
Or are the 8027 chips I used defective?
Unfortunately 8027 was the only set I had to try.
The game will play with 8026 through 8031 SMI's and I was wondering if anyone had another set, within the range 0f 26 through 31, that I could try?
