Since you got the 2nd machine's bv to start working by fiddling around with the stacker and other bv related stuff that's where I'd concentrate on the 3rd machine. The bill validator housing, cash compartment door and cash compartment storage box (can) often have some type of security switch or optic setup that ensures the casino that the cash handling & storage are all securely locked up. So it just takes one bv security switch or cash box optic not working to cause the bv to not operate. Many people bypass the cash can security switches by disconnecting the 2 wires from the switch and twisting them together. For optics down there I don't know the details on bypassing them. And my familiarity is with upright machines, not bartops, so there may be differences.

I misunderstood    :duh:    the post. I thought you were talking about a stacker door switch.  My bad, sorry. You're talking about the stacker being inserted all the way.    :cool_thumb_up:

the bill units are a completely separate unit from the rest of the machine. all three have to make the same mechanical sounds upon power up, the heavy grinding noise of the cash can recycling and then the softer noise of the transport to the head cycle. the power supply serves two functions, supplies power to the unit and has the I/O board that sends and receives the information between the bill unit and the mpu. the bill unit has to be turned on, (9-1),  the denom. has to be set (.25), and the limits have to be set (screen setting). you should be able to swap out all the individual units from a non- working machine to a working machine. the head and transport is a given, the cash box is easy, the power supply is easy, the only item that would prove to be difficult would be the transport/ cash can housing, two screws on the back wall.  you can test this housing by removing the cash can after the initial purge cycle, as soon as you remove the cash can the unit should begin to cycle(it is looking for the cash can, the optics in that unit know the can was removed, that information is passed on to the transport via the 4 pin black plug right front) some times the pins get bent and do not mate properly.

 :thank_you:  All for your help.

For the moment, 2 of the machines are working with bills, one is quarters only. This has been satisfactory for my client.
The location is 45 minutes away from me, so going back and forth isn't doing anything but draining my gas tank, so we have settled for what I have accomplished so far. Should I need to make a trip out there again in the future for a different collectible machine gone awry, I will attempt to resume the attempt to get the 3rd unit working. Having narrowed down the trouble to the DBV itself, gives me the ability to concentrate on that rather than the entire machine, main board, etc.
