Bally 5500, no display codes
« on: March 19, 2021, 05:12:07 PM »
Hi,

I have recently acquired a 777 Double Jackpot machine. When I turn the machine on, only the bulbs come in, the display stays blank and doesn't flicker, same with the MPU light.

I have read on this forum about testing the power supply, but I'm not fully understanding what needs to be connected. When it says "TO TEST JUMPER PIN 1 to 3 AND JUMPER PIN 2 to 4" do I just need to connect a wire between those two? I don't belive the machine came with any jumpers. Also, do I unplug both the left and right connectors at the same time to test?

Ive also found out that the battery is dead, and what seems to be a broken connection, anything else wrong with this board?

Power supplies are a common failure item. Replace it.  On the MPU the  component BP19 is broken and most likely needs replaced. Install a new battery . And you will be all set. You could send your MPU and PS to K-Lar if you want the repairs done .

Thanks for the quick reply, went ahead and ordered the psu replacement part, will most likely send the board off, thanks for the recommendation!
