I have a Bally 1982 E2224-19, I can't figure out how to adjust the payout of coins. It's paying out too many. Thank you

If it pays too much, it's because of the hopper exit switch is out of adjustment. It's a simple adjustment: the switch should snap when the roller on top of the coin is around the 10 o'clock position, with the coin slipping thru the exit section.

You will have to bend the actuator tab slightly to contact the Cherry switch actuator a little sooner.

What about the hopper motor brake, if it has one and it is broken the motor will continue to turn longer than it should which will cause extra coins to be paid out.

^^ Yes, but it will set a TILT code if it senses more coins than there should be. If it doesn't tilt, the switch is not registering one click for each coin and will only shut off the hopper motor once the total equals the win.
