Bally 5000 Plus trickel Charge

Well now I know what everyone means by these Bally 5000 Plus machines eat battery's. I installed a new battery,let machine run for 3 days . First time I turned it off it was for about 6 hrs.everything was fine. 2nd time I Had the machine off for 10 hrs and battery was below level to keep machine running .. Would it be possible to install a trickle charger in between the battery and the board to keep battery charging when machine is off . Was thinking of something like this .. Thanks Jim

If you are trickle charging the battery you will also be sending that trickle charge to the RAM chips.

Are you using a green Varta battery? They appear to last the longest.

If you are using a rechargeable battery but have some jumpers and diodes and cut traces on the back then the board has been modified to use a Li battery and not a rechargeable battery.

The rechargeable battery would not get any charge voltage if this mod has been made.
