Tse-Tse Fly Boards

Hello all....


Quick question for you.


So I have a top box board that suddenly without warning (although unused for a couple months) decided to quit.  By that I mean that when booting up the game screen says "lost comm top box".  I have checked the connection and it seems fine.  The monitor up top displays the first memory check as passed but nothing else happens.  I had another one go out like this but with an earlier boot eprom chip and board revision. Thinking it was dead as well I replaced it. So today I decided to test the battery in the boards (both tse-tse's) and the battery is virtually dead in both.  Could this be why they won't boot and talk to the main board???

Cheap to change out batteries and test so see if that fixes the problem.  If not we have tested working TSE boards available.

I have ordered a few from Amazon and I will check as soon as they get here.  If it works then I have 2 working boards if not, then 2 dead ones and will need to purchase a third...........How much are they going for these days I wonder?

Thinking of getting a D/S BB1 cabinet with EBB so I can run the rest of my DS games......................or maybe a BB2 ripe for the monitor upgrade and OLED button panel.  So many choices...lol

Well the batteries arrived today and I just installed and booted up "supermarket Sweep"!! 

YIPPEE it was the battery!!!!  Made the board not boot/ram test etc. and communicate with the MPU board. Who knew??

Lesson learned I guess.  SO now we know that 3 volts are required to keep this board happy.................
