Hello,
I have a customer (long distance) that I am helping out. Her machine was down and needed to be Cleared and Set Up, so I mailed her a Clear Card.
Once we Cleared the machine and brought up the Set Up Menu to configure everything, she noticed that her Touchscreen wasn't responding at all. But there are no Touchscreen Errors shown on the screen with the current machine status.
There is no separate harness that plugs into the lower LCD that I can see to control the Touch functions. I even looked at my own BB1 and see no additional wiring to the LCD.
So, my question is this.... where does the Touch Signal originate and where does it go?" Is it something on the Backplane? Or inside the CPU?
I'm assuming that the Touch wiring is part of the Power Harness to the LCD. But I really don't know. Or is it embedded into the VGA Cable?
I'd like to get her machine going, but I really don't know where to start.
Thanks,
Curtis ash100

This came from a Bally gamemaker.
Let me know if you have a working extra.
Thanks!

I posted a response on the first topic where Badbaud jumped in. Jumper E14/E15 IF it is chip volume related. It's covered in the manual in the file system. If it is a CAPX mismatch he will need a different eprom. Feel free to delete this if you want to consolidate subjects but it seems worthwhile to have the jumper numbers called out in this conversation.

Looks like there are two topics for this same issue. I looked at the manual in the file system and this is specifically covered in the instructions. Not sure if my attachments will be legible but it's covered in the manual if you cannot read it here. Looks like jumper E14/E15....IF the issue is IC volume related. You can look at the volume printed on the chip and see if it matches the jumper setting. Based on the other feedback from Jay and Badbaud this is likely a mismatch of CAPX.

I found it is not the spin button or the wiring. It is on the I/O board. There are two transistors that allow the function of that button and one more for the lifgt. I don't know which two are for the function of that button. Does anybody have any information on which transistors are associated with which button?

Member Todbedy's current thread is here: https://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=43006.0Jay, if you reply here, can you split this into the current topic? Or let me know so I (Or Wayne) can split it, if needed.

Update on this S3000 problem,
I ordered a couple of replacement reels, of course they were the wrong part number and don't even fit inside of the Reel Shelf together. They're a 1/4" wider than the originals. The ones in the cabinet are 66012002, the wider ones are 66012004. I'm guessing that they require a different Reel Shelf.
I do have one spare 2002 Reel, and I've been trying to figure this thing out, but it's kicking my butt.
I can rearrange the Reels and put them in a different order, and each time receive a different result. That's the part that baffles me. Some work in position 1, but not 2 or 3. The one that worked in position 1 will not work in 2, but in 3 and so on. At one point I had all 3 Reels fully lit continuously and they would not go out, so playing the game wasn't any fun with everything on full bright.
The Divider Lights are also doing the same thing. They work on some Reels and not others, but do in different positions.
Along with all of the Reels I ordered, I replaced the little Driver Board on the side of the Reel Shelf. It made no difference.
In the Diagnostic Mode, the only Reel that Lights is position 0 (1). The others stay dark. Results shown are Normal and Failed Test.
So, at this point I'm ready to dump this POS. Apparently this thing is beyond my troubleshooting capabilities.
Sorry if this post is confusing to read, but I'm highly confused myself. As the process of elimination doesn't seem to work on this cabinet.
I can only assume that if Reel 1 works and 2 doesn't, then 3 won't either? But that's not necessarily what I'm experiencing. I guess I'll just keep ordering Reels until it decides to work.
Any help or suggestions?
Different Reel Shelf to fit the newer Reels? Or will that require wider cutouts in the Glass?

Normally that is caused by a defective, or wrong, CAPX chip or a pin was bent on it when it was installed.
I was able to pull the chip and the pins look good. Are these CAPX chips easy to source?

Hello,
I have a players edge game that plays as it should however the cards displayed are blank (see pic). I'm guessing this is a color issue as the color test pages 14-17 in the self test menu are showing blank (big white squares).
Has anyone dealt with this issue before?
Thanks in advance for any help!
